Off-Duty Employment Request

  1. The Sherman Police Department allows employees to engage in certain employment outside the Department. Officers may engage in employment conditioned on the potential use of law enforcement authority for the benefit of the City and its citizens. Employees have primary responsibility to work for the City of Sherman Police Department. Officers serve as a supplement to on-duty personnel while engaged in off-duty employment and are subject to recall at any time.

  8. CANCELLATION NOTICE - If the event is canceled, a 24-hour notice is required. If cancellation notice is not received, there is a 3-hour minimum fee due.
  9. As of April 1, 2019 the price is $40.00 an hour per officer if request is received 7 days prior to the event. If the request is received less than 7 days prior to the event, the price is $45.00 an hour per officer.
