Arts Fest 2023 Vendor Application

  1. 42nd ANNUAL SHERMAN ARTS FESTIVAL APPLICATION
  2. DATE:

    Saturday, September 16, 2023 (Rain or Shine)

  3. GENERAL INFORMATION:
    Registration is open to individuals, clubs, and groups for the sale of original handcrafted items made or assembled by seller. Please submit a photo of your merchandise and your booth or display set-up along with your application, so we may ensure a wide variety of vendors for attendees. Payment options will be sent with notification of acceptance.
  4. TAX INFO:

    Vendors are required to collect and remit state and local sales tax- PLEASE CONTACT TAX AUTHORITES TO DETERMINE IF THIS APPLIES TO YOUR BUSINESS.  Contact the State Comptroller's office in Sherman for more tax info and assistance at 1-888-334-4112 or online. The State Comptroller's office will send a representative out during the festival to perform spot checks ensuring all vendors possess the correct permit.

  5. LOCATION:
    Along Pecan, Elm, Rusk, and Mulberry Streets surrounding the Municipal Building.
  6. SET-UP:

    Saturday, September 16th - 6:00-8:00 AM- Booths must be completely set up, ready for sales, and vehicles moved to designated parking no later than 8:30 AM.

  7. SALES:
    9:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Saturday; however, individual vendors may begin sales as early as they are ready Saturday morning.
  8. TEAR DOWN:
    4:00 PM. NO early tear-downs. (Early tear-down may result in removal from list of accepted vendors for future events.)
  9. APPLICATION DEADLINE:

    September 8th, 2023

  10. PAYMENT DEADLINE:

    September 8th, 2023. No refunds after this time or for bad weather.

  11. PAYMENT OPTIONS
    Payment can be made online- link will be sent with acceptance by email (check your junk mail), or by check- made out to City of Sherman, mailed to Tourism & Main Street Office, 100 N. Travis St. Suite D, Sherman, TX 75090.
  12. BOOTH INFORMATION:

    10'x10' outdoors. Vendors may request up to 2 adjacent spaces. If you have a major placement preference (i.e. "we liked where we were last year"), please note that in your description (below), and we will do our best to accommodate it. Unloading assistance not available. Vendors are responsible for providing their own tables, chairs, shade coverings/tents, etc. Spaces are assigned to avoid having similar products side-by-side.

  13. ELECTRICITY:

    Electric access can be requested, but will not be guaranteed for any vendor, as it is limited across the lawn and can be unreliable.  If electric is necessary to the nature of your booth-space, bring a generator as a back-up.  Outlets provided by the City include GFI protection- ensure appropriate power cord is brought.

  14. VENDOR TYPES: (see descriptions below)
  15. Nonprofit Organizations-
    Must hold 501(C)(3) status. Allowable activities provided by non-profit booths include: -Selling fundraising items (merchandise, event, or raffle tickets, etc.). -Giving away promotional items or offering free art-related activities. -Displaying posters or literature & handing out flyers about the nonprofit organization. ***Distribution of materials is limited to assigned booth space. Activities of all nonprofit organizations must be approved in advance.***
  16. Artisan-
    Artisan vendors sell products handmade by the artist. All items sold must be original work of the artist or craftsman named on application.
  17. Marketplace-
    Marketplace vendors sell commercial items that are NOT handmade by one artist. This includes items that are mass produced. Vendor provides a product that is not hand-crafted by the seller, but does not bear a brand name or corporate logo. Exceptions are approved home distribution businesses.
  18. Business-
    Professional service related businesses such as medical doctors, dentists, or entrepreneurs.
  19. Food Vendor-
    Includes vendors selling ready-to-eat food from a food truck or booth.

  24. VENDOR RELEASE:
    No political booths or advertisements are allowed at Festival. If vendor is in violation of Festival conditions, vendor may be asked to tear down without refund. The Sherman Arts Festival and Tourism Department reserve the right to refuse participation to any applicant or vendor. General release & acknowledgement: I hereby and forever discharge release and hold harmless the Sherman Department of Tourism, City of Sherman, Grayson County, and their agents of and from any loss or damage to my person or property while in possession of or under the supervision of the Sherman Department of Tourism and its sponsors. I hereby consent to the enforcement of all the rules and instructions of the said event. By signing below, applicant hereby certifies that applicant has read and accepted the conditions set above. Applicant is responsible for obtaining all pertinent licenses, insurance, and permits. Applicant also certifies that all information provided is true and correct and signature represents a commitment to participant.
