Don't hang up until the dispatcher says it's okay.
You can now text 911 for help. In the near future, we will be able to accept your photos.
Some 9-1-1 centers have bilingual 9-1-1 call takers and dispatchers. All dispatchers can add on an interpreter through the use of a language line service. The language line offers translation in more than 170 different languages.
A non-English caller may hear a short conversation in English, then some clicking sounds, as an interpreter is added to the 9-1-1 call. Please do not hang up before the call has been completed.
