The Sherman Public Library Summer VolunTEEN program is for students ages 12 - 18. The purpose of this program is to allow teens in the Sherman area to enhance job skills, gain work experience, and grow as an individual while contributing to the library. VolunTEENs will be credited service hours for time spent volunteering during scheduled shifts.
Types of tasks and duties you might be asked to perform as a VolunTEEN: putting books in order, cleaning and straightening the public areas, shelf-reading books and DVDs to make sure they are in order, cleaning toys and other items that are used by our guests, program/event prep, helping us facilitate programs with the public, and staffing the Summer Reading table to help participants get the prizes they have earned.
If accepted, orientation for summer VolunTEENs will be May 31st, 2022. If you are unable to make it to orientation, please inform Youth Librarian Cassie Wickline to make other arrangements.
