IMPORTANT
INFORMATION FOR ONLINE USERS
The City
of Sherman is now offering the option to make your Municipal Court payments
online.
Use of
the online Municipal Court payment system requires that you have agreed to the
following terms:
- An
online payment of a fine will result in a conviction that may be reported
to a driving record or to a criminal record.
- An online
payment is only applicable if you are pleading guilty or no contest (nole
contendre). If you wish to plead not guilty you must appear in person before
the court to handle your citations.
You may
NOT use the online Municipal Court payment
system if you are:
- Contesting
a Charge (pleading not guilty) and will be appearing in person before the
court to handle your citations.
- Requesting
a Driving Safety Course (Defensive Driving) or Deferred Disposition .
- Seeking
a Compliance Dismissal of a violation for which a compliance dismissal is
permitted by State law.
- A person
age 16 or younger charged with any violation. Texas law requires that a person
age 16 or younger appear with one or both parents in court.
- A person
20 and under charged with an alcohol-related violation or tobacco-related
offense.
Payment
options will include:
- Credit
card types of Discover, Master Card or Visa.
- Ability
to pay multiple citations with a single credit card transaction.
- $1.25
convenience fee per credit card transaction.
