- Assign 9-1-1 addresses inside the city limits of Sherman
- Contractor registration and licensing
- Ensuring that all construction occurs in accordance with all applicable
laws, ordinances and building codes
- Identifying and coordinating the demolition of substandard structures
- Issuing permits for construction, renovation, electrical, plumbing,
irrigation, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), certificates of
occupancy and signs
- Maintenance and enforcement of all development-related ordinances
- Working with appointed boards, commissions and committees to ensure
development-related issues are resolved in an expedient and professional manner
