Read to Win StoryTimes
The Sherman Public Library invites children ages 18 months to five years old and their caregivers to join the fun at Read To Win. This StoryTime of books, music, puppets and fingerplays is fun for all. Earn a new paperback of your choice every 4th week. Read to Win meets on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:00 am. Dig into Reading! Youth Summer Reading Club for ages birth-eleven
Reading Club registration begins on June 6. Sign up for the Reading Club and track book titles or the time that you spend reading or being read to. You'll get a cool color changing pencil and a bookmark when you sign up! Turn in a completed Reading Log and win a Treasure Box prize, a sticker to put on the Bulletin Board, and an entry slip for the Grand Prize Drawing! On Awards Day you will get a certificate and up to 5 paperback books! Complete a Reading Log to win a free book. Limit of 5 books per participant. The more you read, the more books you can win and the better your chance to win the Grand Prize! The Grand Prize this summer is a Kindle Paperwhite! August 10 is the last day to turn in completed Reading Logs. The child and/or the parent/legal guardian must be present to register for the Summer Reading Club.
Awards Day will be held on Saturday, August 17 from 1:00-3:00 PM. If you are unable to make it to Awards Day, you can come by the Library to select your prize books and spend Book Bucks through the end of August. You do not need to be present to win the Grand Prize.
Dino Days
K-5th graders can read dinosaur books to win cool dino stickers and a FREE ticket to the Dino Days exhibit at the Sherman Museum! Sign up at the Sherman Library and read 9 dinosaur books to win your ticket. You can also count these books on your Dig into Reading Summer Reading Club Log!

Join us on Mondays at 2:00 PM in the Municipal Ballroom located at 405 N Rusk. Space is limited. Snacks available for purchase.
June 10: The Critterman presents: Stephen F. Austin's Texas! Meet a Turkey Vulture, a Ferret, a Barn Owl, a Kingsnake, a Beaver and a Prairie Dog!
June 17: Sing along with the talented storyteller and banjo player Dan Gibson!
June 24: Storytime Theater presents: Gertrude McFuzzy and the Three Little Whos!
July 8: Baba Kwasi presents: The Oldest Drumbeat in the World!
July 15: Dallas Puppet Theater presents: Rumplestiltskin!
July 22: Enjoy magic, juggling, and see a rabbit pop out of a hat with magician Bryan Lankford.
July 29: Jungle Jim presents: The Traveling Creepy Crawlies Show! Meet an assortment of live reptiles, amphibians and arthropods.
Crafternoon Kids
For children ages 5-10. Tuesdays 3:00-3:45 PM OR 4:00-4:45 PM. Please call 903-892-7240 to register starting on the Monday of the week before each program. Space is limited.

June 18: Use tissue paper and glitter glue to create styrofoam sparkle turtles!
June 25: Design Magic Nuudle sculptures!
July 2: Paint foam race cars that really roll!
July 9: Make your own sidewalk chalk!
July 16: Paint wooden wiggle snakes!
July 23: Decorate fabric animal puppets!
July 30: Paint your own wooden coin banks!
Reading Buddies
Young students going into the 1st-3rd grades read and play educational games with Teen Volunteers! Please call 903-892-7240 to register starting on the Monday of the week before each program. Space is limited. Wednesdays 3:00-4:00 PM. June 12-July 31. Teen Volunteers needed!
Book Bucks
Challenge your brain and research Game Board questions to win Book Bucks! The Game Board is for students going into the 3rd-12th grades.
Tell us about a book you've read by filling out a paper or online Book Review form and win a Book Buck!
Participants of all ages can choose a Book Buck as a Treasure Box prize when turning in a completed Reading Log.
Spend your Book Bucks on fun prizes on Awards Day!
Limit of 10 total Book Bucks per participant.
