About The Department
Sherman Fire-Rescue is a progressive organization delivering a wide variety of emergency and nonemergency services. We are dedicated to providing the community with the highest standard of service. We are a full-time paid department and a civil service municipality governed by the Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 143.
Requirements for Applying
All applicants seeking an entry-level position must have a Basic Firefighter Certification through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection and an EMT certification through the Texas Department of State Health Services. Hiring preference will be given to candidates who are certified Paramedics.
