Public Notice - New Tax Rate Adopted at the September 15, 2014 City Council Meeting
- This tax rate will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year's tax rate. The tax rate will effectively be raised by 6.3% and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by $19.65.
Fright Fest 2014
- The Sherman Police Department is seeking groups to participate in its annual Fright Fest trick-or-treat event scheduled for Thursday, October 30, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:30 pm, on the Sherman Municipal Grounds (400 block N Rusk).

Sherman has been selected a top retirement destination by "Where to Retire" magazine and is one of eight cities profiled in a feature titled "8 Low-Cost Cities" in the September/October 2014 issue. The eight cities, including Sherman, were chosen after research of cost-of-living data, taxes, housing prices and overall attractiveness and livability.
